What defines being late is arriving to the session after the booked time. There are two possible situations that can occur. If you are late, we tutor only for the remainder of your booked time slot.
For example, if you booked an appointment from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and you arrive at 4:10pm, we would still end at 5:00pm.In some cases, if you are late, we may tutor past your booked time slot. For example, if you booked an appointment from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and you arrive at 6:45pm, we would tutor from 6:45pm to 7:45pm. In this case, you would be charged for 1 hour and 15 minutes. When you book a session with me, you are paying for a scheduled block of time.
No-shows will be charged the full price of the tutoring session. A no-show is defined as any tutoring session that you do not attend and for which you have not notified me of your cancellation in advance.
The amount of tutoring depends on your goals, the subject, and how much support you need outside of class. Some students benefit from meeting weekly to stay on track, while others may need more frequent sessions during exams or when struggling with a particular topic. I work with each student to create a schedule that fits their needs and ensures steady progress.
Studying is most effective when it’s consistent and active. I encourage students to break material into smaller, manageable pieces, review regularly instead of cramming, and use strategies like color coding, practice problems, and self-testing. Building good study habits makes learning less stressful and more effective.
I specialize in high school and college-level math and chemistry. My background in chemical engineering allows me to explain technical concepts clearly and connect them to practical applications. I also enjoy helping students develop problem-solving skills that go beyond the classroom.
Parents play a key role in supporting their child’s progress. Encouraging consistent study habits, providing a distraction-free environment, and checking in on progress all make a big difference. Sharing copies of test results, report cards, or teacher feedback also helps me identify specific areas to focus on and create a more targeted plan for success.
Many clients choose to work with me because I bring a unique perspective and background that resonates with students. Being a male teacher often provides a refreshing dynamic, and my age makes it easier for younger students to connect and relate to me. This combination helps build trust, comfort, and a learning environment where students feel understood and supported.
Students should come prepared to each session with materials ready, an open mind, and a willingness to engage. Consistency is key, so completing assignments, reviewing notes, and practicing problems outside of our sessions helps maximize results. Effort and participation from the student make all the difference.
As a baseline, students should send the teacher’s email, the syllabus/course schedule, and an email to share all the recorded lessons. Also sending pictures of homework, notes, and completed tests/quizzes for the course, ideally before the upcoming tutoring session.
Clean notebook, current homework/notes, Pen/pencils, Highlighter(s) (maximized engagement with notes), Calculator (TI 84 preferred or the calculator recommended by your school), Tablet or laptop.
I keep students engaged by tailoring lessons to their learning style and breaking down complex ideas into simple steps. I ask questions, use real-world examples, and celebrate small wins to build confidence. Motivation often comes from showing students their progress and making learning feel less overwhelming and more rewarding.
I primarily work with high school and college students, but I also support advanced middle schoolers who are taking on higher-level math or science courses. My approach is flexible enough to meet students where they are, whether they’re preparing for standardized tests or managing rigorous coursework.
