About Us

The Mission to read Between The Lines

I graduated in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina A&T with honors and have over four years of tutoring experience. My greatest strength is patience, which helps students fully grasp concepts, and my teaching philosophy is built on strong connections, positive expectations, and making learning relatable through real-world examples.

Our History

I graduated with a 3.5 GPA in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University, where I found myself tutoring and grew passionate about helping others learn. Starting with a simple approach, I refined my methods during COVID-19 through online tools like recorded lessons and color-coded solutions. Over time, I learned that building strong relationships and student accountability are key to success. Now, with two years of experience post-graduation, I focus on personalized learning plans, tracking goals and study habits, and creating consistent structures that make learning effective and adaptable to each student’s needs.

Started Tutoring Students

From my early academic years going through the MYP/International baccalaureate program to a Chemical Engineering graduate of the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technological State University. I’ve spent my youth focused, building discipline. During my time in college, I was a member of the honors program and during my sophomore year, I began tutoring. Initially I approached tutoring in a very straightforward manner. If you had questions, I answered them. If you brought a worksheet, we would do the worksheet and if you requested the question be done a different way, we would do that.

The Shift To Online Tutoring

Due to the onset of Covid, I experienced a strong shift to online tutoring. This shift online actually helped the learning experience in a couple of ways. One is lessons could be recorded, two is it notably increased my work schedule flexibility to meet my client needs, and three, allowed solutions to problems to be quickly color coded, making them much easier to follow. By this point I had been tutoring for a minute and my ability to break down complex ideas into simpler pieces had drastically improved. This is also around the time I realized how important it is to build a relationship with your students. People need people to hold them accountable and to believe in them. My students can feel my willingness and devotion to teach the content in as many ways as needed for mastery. Yes, we use a combination of worksheets, videos, practice tests, and of course homework; however what really drives results is the buy-in I get from the student. If a student is sold, anything is possible.

Today

Today's Goals & Mission

Now I have been out of school for 2 years. I graduated as a chemical engineer with a 3.5 GPA and have been honing my craft to educate further. The primary focus is to create truly personalized learning experiences. To develop this, I have started keeping journals for individual students, highlighting current goals, strengths and weaknesses. Asking more specific questions about study habits, your relationship with your teacher, and simple things to optimize your schedule. Improvements to your study habit could look like studying at the same time of day, consistently using notecards or consistently doing practice problems and labeling the steps. I state consistently to mean you keep using the same study method so you can improve on the execution of the method. For example, if you have been using notecards for a while and that is working for you but you feel short on time, record yourself reading the notecards. Then play it in the car, play it in the shower, and play it whenever you can. The mindset is how can we create structure to learn and study but work around your busy schedule. Doing that would make the learning process much more holistic and much easier to commit to.
